Recently, I shared a few of my favorite things about lifestyle photography sessions photographed in your home. Each and everyone of those things still holds so true to my heart. When you book a lifestyle newborn, baby, or in-home family session, you are not only trusting me to document your family, but are trusting me to come into your home. To me, that's huge! I won't lie, there is never a time I don't ring a doorbell without nerves shooting through my bones. But that just how I am. But, as soon as I see you and your family, all that goes away. I've been welcomed into so many beautiful homes. Each one is so unique, full of character, and full of that family's love. I feel it every single time.
Many families question if photographing their session in their home is the best option. My opinion? Yes. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely dote over those grassy fields with stunning sunlight. And those locations are perfect for family photography session. However, when it comes to newborn, baby, or a 'day in the life' family sessions, I have no words. Many mama's dislike the colors of their walls, wonder about the style of their home, how their comforter isn't their favorite, or that they just don't have the energy to clean.
Let me tell you something...
When you look at your photos of the beautiful little family you helped create, you will not be thinking about the color of your walls, the style of your home, how that comforter isn't your favorite, and you will not remember if your home was clean or if a tornado just struck the night before.
I promise. You'll be thinking about how your family is perfect the way they are, how happy you are that these photos are your's forever, and how full of love your heart is.
My goal for every session is to create a story. A flow of your images that brings back that special feeling of that particular magical time in your life. From this day on, I am promising to photograph not only your family, but your home, and the feeling you get from being within those walls.
