I photographed this little man's newborn session last June, and when I arrived at this family's doorstep I was so giddy I couldn't stand it. It was like a breath of fresh air to walk into their familiar and gorgeous home, but seeing framed photos of their last session all of their walls was such a big moment for me. And then to hear their little laughs, the echo of their feet running across the wood floor, and overloaded with hugs, my heart was so happy. Baby James has the best big brother and sister. And to this mama, you are so beautiful, you have the best kids, and your sessions have forever touched my heart.

This has become one of my new mottos, not only for my daily life, but for your photography session with me as well. You see, my goal is not to photograph your family just right, but instead, honestly and beautifully.
So I'm here today not to tell you all about what I do, who I am, or what your session will be like with me. I'm here because I need you. I need you because you are my inspiration, you are what makes my eyes sparkle. There isn't a session I don't leave that my feet aren't dirty and my hair isn't a mess on the top of my head. Because I live for that every detail and don't want to miss one second of your family's magic.
With that being said, during your session I'll ask you to join me. To leave all of your worries behind, to stop fixating on those wrinkles you couldn't get ironed out of your husband's shirt, to run along the path barefoot, to dance like no one is there, to braid back your daughter's curls, to break ties with the word 'cheese' and forcing everyones smiles. I ask you to join me in documenting your family just as you are. I need your family's magic.
Together we will will focus on who you are, your favorite things to do, documenting the most meaningful parts of your family. I’ll photograph each second, capturing those detailed images, the in-between, the fun, the silent moments.
So this is your opportunity to make life stand still. To not only see or hold these moments in your hands forever, but to feel and remember who you are now, and how the love you have for your husband and little ones is so overpowering you can't help but come to tears.

My husband and I have talked here and there about a friend for Remi, he's such a mama's boy and is in constant need of company. So Shane found a breeder in a tiny town outside Fort Collins, and we agreed to go and take a peek. Well, as I'm sure you can tell we were instantly in love. Before I could sneak in a word, Shane's eyes lit up and with a HUGE smile on his face, he said, "We'll take him!". With that we hopped in the car and as a new family of 4 we drove on home.
Sonny is quite the hoot, and we sure do love him. But still, wish us luck! Hopefully these walls are big enough for two happy Golden Retrievers.

I have a deep passion for all those perfect itsy bitsy details, the big picture, the messy, the smiles, the tears. If you don't already know me, you know that I wish for nothing more than to photograph each family honestly, to document every unique story, to show a family's undeniable affection for one another. From the time I arrived at the doorstep to waving goodbye through my car window, they set a fire inside of me. We were monkeys jumping on the bed, scary tickle monsters, famous dancers with some pretty sweet moves. When we needed a breather, we made sure mom was there for a hug. This mother’s loving touch radiates through her children, their smiles the warmest they could be. I was even told, ‘I love you’ during this session, and that enough was clarification that this is what I was meant to do.

Emma girl, you had me at the hair. And if you know me, you know hair on brand new babes is like a jealous dream come true for me. I think it may be because I went an unacceptable time without it as a baby. With every baby I photograph that has hair, I swear a piece of my newborn self grows back some confidence. And for those adorable newborn's that don't yet have hair, I promise you, I know the feeling, and their is hope. You are all perfect, just how God made you.
I traveled to Denver for this sweet Newborn Photography session, and was so thrilled to meet this gorgeous family. They are picture-perfect, like a dream come true. They were so welcoming, so thoughtful, so loving of their newest addition. They made my job as a Denver Lifestyle Photographer so easy, and I fell so in love with them. We chatted about life, we loved on little Emma (myself included!), we all had a dance party with the dogs, our morning was wonderful. I love them, and I can't wait to hug on them all again. xo
